When Opportunity Knocks, Veronica Mars Will Still Be Smarter Than You

In the days since the Veronica Mars movie Kickstarter reached its $2 million goal in less than 24 hours, I’ve kept a tab open to the page. In a week, it’s blown past its goal, now nearly reaching four million dollars at the time of this posting. We still have three more weeks–who knows what could still happen?

“Don’t you just find Mindy Kaling, like, really annoying, though?” and other things I find, like, really annoying.

First of all, let’s just start this post by reminding everyone that The Mindy Project is my favorite new comedy of the season, and that I love Mindy Kaling more than I love a lot of things. I know that she is vaguely unpopular on the Internet, for reasons that are valid and reasons that are subjective, but when I ask people why they don’t like her, the general response is that she’s “annoying” or “talks about herself too much.” Now, I don’t know Mindy Kaling personally, but–wait a second, I’m pretty sure that neither do you. It is only the premier, though, so I’ll cut the Doctor some slack here. One of my favorite shows has returned, stronger than ever, with promises of new characters and cherished villains, and I know I can’t wait to talk about it. To the Asylum!

My Picks for Fall: The Top Three

As we get into the season this fall, we of course have a whole new set of shows to test the waters. With staples like 30 Rock and The Office crossing over after this season, and the realization that a standard like House isn’t returning, I’ve been perusing the new array more carefully than usual. We’re going to have some pretty big shoes to fill this year, but somehow it feels like we’ve been given exactly what we need.

What I Watched This Summer: Bailey Catches Up

It’s been a pretty quiet summer here at ABPW, but we’re getting ready to ramp up for the fall season–noticed our new layout and Twitter account? One of my favorite things to do in school was always writing the “what I did this summer” essay, and as a blogger, that hasn’t faded. It’s been a pretty grueling summer for me, but somehow I still managed to watch a stupid amount of television.
