Five Kings, One Crown: In the Game of Thrones, you win or you die.

Last season of Game of Thrones threw us more than a few curveballs – deaths all around, villains doing the killing and heroes doing the dying. Betrayal was everywhere, and those who didn’t know how to play met their untimely ends. This season, which starts Sunday on HBO, will be all of that doubled, and more. I don’t know about you, but my knuckles are white with anticipation.

Pilot Review: Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23

As you may know, the pilot of this new show is available for early viewing, and I recommend you check it out. For a while, when this show started running, I thought it would get canceled a few episodes in because the premise (or what we’d been told) was so…boring. I thought it sounded worse than Whitney, and, well, I guess I don’t have a lot to say about that (I try not to talk about that show).

However, I took one for the team today and watched the pilot of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23. Though I’ll never understand why we couldn’t just stick with this name from the beginning, I’ll say that I did enjoy the pilot and I would recommend watching it.

Alcatraz Thoughts: Hopefully our prison isn’t shut down forever, too.

I’ve been a dogged supporter of Alcatraz for its entire run, although I will have some things to say about it if it gets renewed (mostly just that the villains are far too awesome and outweigh the heroes by a lot, which means that the heroes need to get better, not that the villains need to get less awesome). I’ve marathoned the last few episodes this afternoon, and here are my quick recaps and finale thoughts. If you intend to watch the show, don’t read this – there are a couple of pretty huge spoilers mixed into the recaps.

It’s when you suffer withdrawals from your favorite TV shows because they take breaks from their weekly airtime. And yes, it is a real thing. Hiatus weeks are never fun since we don’t get the weekly dose of our favorite shows, but they can also be a great time to catch up on other shows that are about to pick up again. Feeling bored during your favorite TV show hiatuses? With some of the best shows taking breaks from their time slots, here are just five shows that you can watch to pass the time and prep for upcoming seasons!

Grimm Renewal: Let’s Talk About Next Season

I told you that I was going to start discussing the new seasons once renewals started coming around, didn’t I? Well, Grimm happens to be one of the first on the renewal block this year (at least, the first one I’m going to write about), and as it happens, I have a whole lot to say about it. Though I have to commend NBC for pulling David Giuntoli out of the reality tv slush pile, they’re going to need a little bit more than his Good-Looking Detective Face chops and some great Monster-of-the-Week to pull this show off next season.
