The Weekly Night Owl: Jan. 9 – 13

Go to bed early?  Don’t worry–each week I’ll share the highlights of my two favorite late night talk shows, Conan and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

Conan

Tim Tebow was a big topic this week (as always, these days), and on Monday’s show Conan’s Peanut Players gave us a reenactment of Sunday night’s game.

With the return of 30 Rock this week, 30 Rock stars were everywhere in the late night realm; aka, it was my heaven.  Jack McBrayer was on Wednesday’s episode; and, as always, he and Conan were hilarious together..

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon

On Tuesday night Queen of Everything, Tina Fey (that’s her official title, right?), was a guest on Late Night.  As usual, she was wonderful even though *cue dramatic music* she and Questlove had a feud to sort out.  Don’t worry, they solved it as all people from Pennsylvania do–by sharing a Hoagie of Forgiveness.

I know you guys always wondered, What would the combination of David Bowie and Tim Tebow be like?  Look no further; Jimmy answered that very question on Thursday’s show.  I give you:  Tebowie.

The Colbert Report

I never really watch The Colbert Report or The Daily Show–I’ve watched them a couple times and they were delightful, but I’ve already committed to two late night talk shows to watch nightly; so, for my sanity’s sake, I’ve avoided any others.  BUT Stephen Colbert is like, maybe running for president? (of South Carolina, anyway)  I’d say that’s pretty noteworthy for the week.

Watch new episodes of Conan every Monday through Thursday on TBS at 11/10c and new episodes of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon every Monday through Friday on NBC at 12:30/11:30c.
